Let's Get Started
Download the Free MCBoot and uLaunchElf files by clicking the two links above.

Free MCBoot is the actual program that will get your PS2 reading .ELF files off of your memory card's /BOOT folder. Don't ask me how this works, it's beyond me.

uLaunchELF is an .ELF file that serves as a launcher/browser. Basically, with this program you'll be able to launch other .ELF files, browse your memory card and hard disk, as well as open image files and edit text files.

Extract the Free MCBoot files into the main drive of your pen drive (not inside a folder) and the BOOT.ELF (not the uncompressed one) from uLaunchELF into a folder called BOOT.

Example

If your pen drive is F:\ the MCBoot files go into F:\

Now pop the Action Replay MAX Evo disc into your PS2 and plug your USB Pen Drive into a USB Slot on your Playstation 2. Once the disc is loaded, open up the Media Player and select Pen Drive. From your pen drive choose the freemcboot file. This should open up the FREE MC BOOT program and you should see this screen:

On this screen, press X to install. SQUARE to format your MC (if you're so inclined).

Press X and wait for the files to be copied. Once the entire process is complete, reset your drive. DO NOT TAKE YOUR USB DRIVE OR MEMORY CARD OUT OF THE PS2!!!
-추가설명: 인스톨이 끝나고 PS2를 재부팅 해야 합니다. 그냥 리셋을 누르시는것
보다 세모키를 누르시면 자동으로 리셋상태로 돌아갑니다.
그리고 씨디등을 빼시고 부팅을 해보시면 런처가 실행이 됩니다.

Once you've resetted your PS2, you should notice that the BIOS doesn't launch straight to the standard PS2 menu, but instead opens up a white menu. This is uLaunchELF.

If this menu is not opened or you get a black/red screen of death, this means that the boot file was not saved into the proper folder. Make sure that you copied BOOT.ELF into the BOOT folder of your pen drive and that your pen drive is plugged properly into the PS2's USB slot.

Once you're at the uLaunchELF menu, open up the browser (CIRCLE is OK, X is CANCEL) and select "mass://". This will bring up a list of the files on your pen drive. Go to the BOOT folder -- but don't open it -- and press X. This will mark the folder for copying/cutting/deleting. Now press R1 to bring up the actions menu and choose COPY.

그리고 처음에 복사하셨던 F:\boot\ 폴더에서 "X" 버튼을 누르시면 폴더 이름앞에
"*"표시가 나타납니다 (열지 마십시요 폴더를 복사할것입니다)
이때 키패드의 "R1" 을 누르시면 왼쪽에 메뉴가 나타나고 Copy를 선택합니다.

Press X to leave your USB drive and go to "mc0://" to open up your memory card files. Press R1 and select PASTE to copy the BOOT folder into your memory card.
-추가설명:이제 PS2 메모리로 이동합니다. "MC0://"에 붙여넣기 하셔야 하는데
"MC0://"에서 바로 하시면 안되기 때문에 MC0://로 들어가셔서 "../"에서 "R1"
키를 누르시고 Paste를 선택하시기 바랍니다.

Once this is all done, unplug your USB pen drive from the PS2 and press reset for the final test. Now that your BOOT.ELF is properly saved to the memory card, the uLaunchELF menu should open up from the Memory Card and you won't need the usb pen drive again.

If the program won't open after you unplugged the usb (e.g. you still get the B/RSOD) then plug the pen drive back in and recopy the BOOT folder into "mc0://".

Congratulations! You've completed the first and most important step to getting homebrew running on your PS2! You won't need the Action Replay MAX Evo disc, or even your PS2 disc laser(!) to start running games from your hard drive anymore!

My next tutorial will focus on HDLoader and running PS2 games from a hard disk! So keep an eye out for that!

방금 생각난 건데요..
